FRANCINE D. POMAINVILLE
NORFOLK – Mrs. Francine Dagmar Pomainville, 69, of State Route 420, peacefully passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 9, 2017 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Francine was born June 7, 1947 in Huntington, Quebec, the daughter of the late Kristian and Madeleine (Touchette) Pedersen. She graduated from Notre Dame School in Huntingdon in 1965 and went on to Montreal to work for Bell Canada. On July 14, 1973, she married Roger Pomainville at St. Agnes Church in Quebec with Msgr. Michael Parent, officiating.
Francine and Roger worked together on their dairy farm where they raised their three children. She also worked as a substitute teacher in the Massena School District. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, brought communion to the home bound, and was also an altar cleaner. She volunteered at Trinity Catholic School in the kitchen for 20 years. She was a member of the K of C Auxiliary Council 1141 for many years. Francine loved spending time with family and friends, reading and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; her three children, Eric of Massena; Scott and Heidi of Clifton Park; and Lisa and Eric Tully of Ballston Spa; her two grandchildren, Bradyn and Emma of Clifton Park; her three sisters, Louise and Vincent Boyea of Massena; Norma and Alfred Latulipe of St. Agnes de Dundee, QC; and Aimee and Philippe Leduc of Elgin, QC; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with Bishop Terry LaValley, celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Francine’s memory to Trinity Catholic School Endowment Fund.
