Before moving to the North Country, Al worked for a time for Ideal Farms in Haledon and drove tractor trailer for New England Motor Freight Company, Antrim, and while in the North Country, he drove for St. Lawrence Transportation Company. He also was a self-employed farmer for nearly 15 years and he and his wife owned and operated JB’s Market in Potsdam for many years. He was an active member of the Potsdam Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his spaghetti and enjoyed coin collecting at one time.

Al is survived by his wife, Pearl, who he married on November 24, 1995; his children, Kathleen and Ray Moulton of Stockholm; Louise Flubacher of Stockholm; Lawrence and Victoria LeaShomb of Norwood; Danny and Jacqueline LeaShomb of Norwood; Steven and Ann LeaShomb of West Jefferson, North Carolina; and Laura and Randy “Jim” Andre of Brasher; several grand and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
