Obituary for Gary M. Donahue

Gary M. Donahue

MASSENA – Mr. Gary M. Donahue, 66, of 62 Douglas Road, unexpectedly passed away early Monday morning, April 23, 2018 at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Gary was born October 21, 1951 in Massena, the son of the late Hubert and Lucine (Beaune) Donahue and was a graduate of Salmon River Central School. Gary proudly served his country in the US Army from 1972 until his discharge in 1978.

Gary worked for a time at the Army Depot in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania before returning back to the Fort Covington Area, where he owned and operated a Thrift Store in Fort Covington and Bombay. He took great pleasure and enjoyment being outdoors fishing, camping and traveling. He also cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his children, William Donahue; Wayne and Christa Donahue of Rochester; Thomas and Nickie Donahue of Massena; Stacey and Toby McGee of Massena; Chucky and Samuel Donahue of Watertown; and Jason and Laurie Donahue of Bombay; 12 grandchildren; 3 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held May 3rd from 12 – 2:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Covington.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Massena Rescue Squad.
