Obituary for John K Perry

MASSENA- John Kenneth Perry, 69, of 154 Liberty Avenue, passed away late Sunday night, June 10, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

John was born on May 20, 1949 in Potsdam, son of the late Leo Edmond and Agnes Pauline Opal Perry. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Empire State University. He entered the US Army on May 14, 1968 serving until his honorable discharge in November 7, 1971.

He began working at Alcoa in 1973 until his retirement in 2007. He was a lifetime member of the Earl J. Santimaw Post #1143 VFW. He was a Civil War reenactment enthusiast and enjoyed the outdoors and camping. John was also a very skilled woodworker.

At the time of his passing, John was living with his daughter Carla Despaw in Massena. John is also survived by his son Anthony John Perry of Bremerton, WA; two grandchildren, Alyssa Michelle Perry and Anna Jesslyn Perry; and his sister, Patti Squire of Schenectady.

He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Agnes Perry.

A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday from 1-3 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home where friends and family may share memories.
