NORFOLK – Jason A. Charter, 37, of River Road passed away Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 with his family by his side.

Jason was born November 9, 1981 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of Melvin and Debra (Eurto) Charter. He was a 2001 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk High School. He loved spending time outdoors fishing or walking in the woods. He was a genuine lover of music and a tattoo enthusiast. He had an enormous sense of humor and made sure he could always get a smile or laugh is someone was feeling down. He had a heart that was filled with love for all people and animals and would give whatever he had to a friend in need, even if the friend was a stranger. Above all he loved his family fiercely; his kids were his greatest blessing and joy.

Jason is survived by his loving parents, Mel and Debbie of Norfolk; his precious children, Khelsey, Jada, Ashton, and Ariel Charter, all of Norfolk; his favorite sister, Nina and Chad Bovay of Massena; his adored nephew, Evan Bovay of Massena; his maternal grandmother, Rose Eurto of Norfolk; his paternal grandmother, Gwen Charter of Willsboro; and several very special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jason was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Robert Eurto of Norfolk; his paternal grandfather, Frederick Charter of Norfolk; his uncle, Donald Charter of Manchester, New Hampshire, and his aunt, Mary Isabelle of Manchester, New Hampshire.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held in the spring to honor Jason.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

I’m so sorry for the loss of this young man. My condolences goes out to the Charter family. There’s a Scripture I would love to share that always helped me when I lost someone in death. It’s in Revelation 21:4 which says: “And he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This is something I love sharing with others, because it’s a promise from God that he will end death forever in the future!
