MASSENA – Shirley M. Daggett, 85, of 153 Kinnie Road, passed away early Saturday morning, January 5, 2019 at Massena Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Shirley was born January 7, 1933 in Hopkinton, the daughter of the late James Melvin and Blanche (Jock) Brown and attended schools in Parishville. On October 30, 1950, she married George Edgar Daggett at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hopkinton. He predeceased her on December 9, 2005.
Shirley worked for a time in the cafeteria at General Motors. She later went to worked at the Baurenstube Restaurant in Massena before working at Auntie Ann’s Pretzels, where she retired. She was communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and more recently St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Massena Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed dancing and the bus trips. She also enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, visiting the casino, and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children, Deborah Oshier of Massena; William “Bill” and Sondra Daggett of Daytona, Florida; Mary and Scott Irish of Massena; and Michele and Roger Daggett of Massena; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; her brother, Dale and Janet Brown of Elmira; a sister-in-law, Marion Brown of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Odena Brown and Irene Hanke and her brothers, Bernard and Loren Brown.
Friends may call Tuesday 3-6:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM. Burial will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery.
