MASSENA – Paula Nina (Wicke) Snow, 56, unexpectedly passed away Monday, April 1, 2019.

Paula was born February 21, 1963 in Massena, the daughter of Martin A. and Elizabeth (Zappia) Wicke. She was a 1981 graduate of Massena High School and SUNY Potsdam with her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education

Paula enjoyed a teaching career at St. Mary’s School in Potsdam and a professional career with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and lastly many years as a medical transcriptionist of Massena Memorial Hospital, where she enjoyed the comradery of the people and profession. Paula will be remembered for her warm smile, heart of gold, love of family and laughter. She will forever be in the hearts of all her friends and family - Sunday dinners with the family and special occasions will never be the same without her smile.

She is survived by her parents of Massena; her son, Michael of Massena; her sister, Jennifer and Stephen LaBarge of Massena; her brothers, David W. Wicke of Albany and John M. and Mia Wicke of Massena; her nieces, Elizabeth, Nicole and Emma LaBarge; her companion, Carmen Wagner of Madrid; and a very large, warm, loving, and appreciated extended family.

There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be held privately in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
