POTSDAM – Mr. Thomas Corwin Peet, 64, of River Road, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday afternoon, April 19, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

Tom was born August 2, 1954 and grew up in Nicholville. He was the son of the late Durwood Peet and the late Ann (Corwin) Crinklaw. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Regis Falls Central School and a 1974 graduate of Canton ATC. After graduation, he was drafted in the US Army, serving his country until 1977. While in the Army and stationed in Germany, he met his future wife, Marlu Meinhard. They married on December 1, 1978 in Stromberg, Germany.
Tom was a CPA and partner in the accounting firm of Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper, and VanHouse. He was also a very active member of the Potsdam United Methodist Church, having served on numerous committees. In addition, Tom was the longtime treasurer of the Potsdam Holiday Fund and a former member of the Potsdam Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed assembling model cars, building wooden replicas of cars and toys, golfing, and many outdoor activities. Tom was meticulous and took pride in the care of his lawn and riverfront property. Of all his enjoyments and hobbies, he most cherished the wonderful memories and activities he shared with his grandsons.
Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marlu; his sons, Gregory Peet and wife Jill, and Andrew Peet, all of Potsdam; his grandsons, Keeygan, Kelson, Karter, and Kameron; and his sister, Nancy Peet of Vashon, Washington.
Friends may call on Thursday 4-7:00 PM at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at the Potsdam United Methodist Church with Rev. Brooke Newell, officiating. Burial will follow in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Potsdam United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
