WADDINGTON- Roy F. Patraw, 84, of 10 LaGrasse Street, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital.

Roy was born on January 25, 1935 in St. Regis Falls, son of the late Wendell and Harriett Peck Patraw. He attended schools in St. Regis Falls and also studied at Canton ATC. He married Elaine M. Dow on June 29, 1957 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Norwood.
Roy began working at Clarkson University in 1954, retiring as Supervisor of the Heating Plant in 1995, due to health issues. He also worked at St. Lawrence NYSAR for seven years, and for a short time at the Waddington Hepburn Library. He enjoyed energy, studying it and figuring it out. Roy was also very artistic, and enjoyed painting, but he really enjoyed talking and visiting with others.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; and one son, Craig A. Patraw of Hermon; his brother Eugene Patraw of York, PA; two sister-in-law’s, Dorothy and Gerald Gonyou, and Muriel Testani; a brother-in-law, Gerald and Madeline Dow; and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by two sons in infancy, Michael Joseph Patraw and Bruce John Patraw; four siblings and their spouses, Elois and Lawrence Sanford, William Patraw, Edna and Harry Price, and Helen and Gerald Palmer, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Douglas Lucia officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Anne’s Cemetery in St. Regis Falls.
