AKWESASNE- Kienon Jace LaFrance, “Kawisoh:ton of 25 Toby Roundpoint Road, Snye, will forever remain 21 after tragically passing away from injuries from a car accident on Saturday, January 4, 2020.

Kienon was born on January 9, 1998 in Cornwall, son of James J. and Charlotte Christina (Weir) LaFrance. He attended Salmon River Central School and graduated from TR Leger in 2017.

Kienon was a Front Desk Clerk at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Hotel, where he was loved by his coworkers and guests. Kienon constantly reminded his family and friends that he was “living his best life” while being active with Mixed Martial Arts, playing lacrosse, drawing, and sharing his gift of music. His infectious and magnetic personality was shared by all he encountered and he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. His strong personality will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his parents, James and Charlotte; and his siblings, Bryanna Herne, James LaFrance, Jr., Jessie Jayanne LaFrance, all of Akwesasne; and Lance Corporal Waylon Forrest LaFrance, USMC, currently stationed in Newburgh, NY; his grandmothers, Catherine Herne of Massena; and Elizabeth LaFrance of Akwesasne. Kienon is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Aleigha, Kalli, Liam, Aubrey, James III, Arianna, Jonas, Jerek, Jaxon, and Etta (his goddaughter); his aunts and uncles, Kalvan Forkhamer (Diane), Joseph Weir (Mary), Anthony “Tony” LaFrance (Shelby) Mitchell “Marvin” LaFrance (Joanna), and Charlene LaFrance (Stanley); his godfather, Richard “Jason” Johnson; many cousins; and a wonderful community of friends he considered “Da Boiz”.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Anthony LaFrance, Sr.; his great grandmother, Charlotte Jacobs Herne; and his aunt and godmother, Lisa LaFrance.

His family will kindly receive visitors at the Akwesasne Homemakers starting at 7:00 PM Wednesday until the time of the service on Friday at 2:00 PM. Service will be at the Homemakers. Meal to follow at the Snye recreation. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.

I only knew Kienon through Chris and Jay, because they were our pageant family! We never missed the chance to go see them, my Daughter grew in pageants because of them! In the ballroom I always remember his sweet spirit one time he leaned down to tell Ariel she did AMAZING and he thought she would win, lol to a 5 yr old that meant everything! The love Chris and Jay had for him, and the amount of respect he had for them was oh so visible. Jay and Chris we love you I won’t even pretend to understand why, or how you manage to get out of bed! We will continue to pray for you all! THANKYOU for all the beautiful memories
