CECELIA C. (LAZORE) CONFER
AKWESASNE – Cecelia Corrine (Lazore) Confer, 75, a longtime resident of First Street, peacefully passed in her sleep Wednesday evening, August 5, 2020 at Cornwall Community Hospital.
Cecelia was born on April 11, 1945 in Fort Covington, the daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Jane Cecelia (Angus) Lazore. She attended school in Kanatakon and graduated from high school in Cornwall. On August 1, 1988, she married James L. Confer at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Egan, officiating. He predeceased her on April 16, 2001.
Cecelia was a homemaker and worked for at time at Tickets Chip Stand. She was communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church and member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits Group. She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, fishing, cooking, and playing Words with Friends on Facebook.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Bay of St. Regis; Agnes Boileau of Cornwall; and Gladys Ellard of New York City; her brothers, John “Jack” and Louise Lazore of Snye; Paul and Margaret Lazare of St. Regis; and Charles “Alvin” Lazare of Cornwall; her brother-in-law, Edward Lazore of Hogansburg; and many nieces and nephews including Amanda Bay and her children, Jasmine, Jenna, and her bestest, Michael.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Lazore and her brothers, Michael Jr. and Tom Lazare.
At her request, there will be not calling hours. Following cremation, she will be interred with her husband., graveside services will be held at that time.
