MASSENA – Michael J. Bell, 42, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday evening, December 30, 2020 at Massena Hospital.
Mike was born on May 26, 1978 in Massena, the son of Doris Dennis and the late Roy Bell. He attended school in Massena and Potsdam. On May 27, 2006, he married Kristi Keough in Massena.
Mike worked various odd jobs throughout the community. He was always wheeling and dealing on “Swap and Shop.” He was an avid motorcyclist, belonging to the Blue Raifes Seaway Valley Riding Club. He will fondly be remembered as “Spanky” on the CB Radios and was very mechanically talented with repairing ATV’s and dirt bikes. His life revolved his son, Michael Jr. and the many activities he did with him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kristi; his sons, Atereyu Raymo of Florida; and Michael Jr. of Massena; his step-daughter, Taylar Banks of South Carolina; his mother, Doris Green of Massena; his stepfather, John Green; his sister, Michelle Bell of Ogdensburg; his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Tristan, Bailey, and Christopher; many cousins including, Matt Green, Scott Dennis, Tina Mattison, George Dennis, Sarah and Zack Huto, and Mitchie and Bryan Lewis; his best friend, Bobby Rushlow; and several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Albert and Vivian Dennis; his aunt, Margaret Borey; his uncle, George Dennis; and his cousin, Bryce Dimick.
Friends may call Friday 4-6:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. Visitation will be occupancy controlled with those attending required to observe social distancing, wear face coverings, and may be required to stand outside if occupancy limits have been reached.
A celebration of his life will be held at the home of his mother, Doris at 141 North Main Street, Massena on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Those attending are required to wear face coverings.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to 39 Serenity Place or an addiction recovery support organization of your choice.
